Kwaku Manu to Sarkodie, Shatta Wale, and others: 'Kumasi people are not happy with you.'
Kwaku Manu, a Ghanaian actor and comedian, bemoans the lack of Christmas concerts in Kumasi.
Sarkodie’s Rapperholic, Stonebwoy’s Bhim Concert and Ashaiman To The World, Samini’s Saminifest and Xperience performances, Shatta Wale’s yearly end of year concerts, and Medikal’s Sowutuom Concerts are among the many popular concerts conducted in Accra.
However, this is not the situation in Kumasi.
People in the Ashanti Region are unhappy with major singers’ unfair treatment, Kwaku Manu remarked in an Instagram post on Monday, December 27, in response to the paucity of events in Kumasi on Christmas days.
“All of the chilling takes place in Accra during the Christmas season. Kwaku Manu bemoaned the fact that there were no shows in Kumasi during Christmas.
“Sarkodie has performed Rapperholic in Tamale and Accra, but never in Kumasi.” When are you going to bring Rapperholic to Kumasi so we can see him? Meanwhile, Kumasians were the first to encourage you when you started rapping.”
“You recently played a gig in Kumasi for Shatta Wale and Medikal,” he said. You’ve done a fantastic job, but we need your help this Christmas. Kofi Kinaata should also visit Kumasi rather than Takoradi. Stonebwoy put on a tremendous event with Beenie Man and Kumasi’s underserved people.”
“How come you treat us like this?” He went on to say, “The way you treat Kumasians is not nice.”
