According to the Vatican, former Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI passed away at the age of 95.

In order to allow the faithful to pay their respects, Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI’s body will lie in state in St. Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican, according to the Vatican press office.
