Cardi B wins $1.25m lawsuit against blogger who claimed she was “a prostitute”

Cardi B has won a defamation action against YouTuber LaTasha Kebe for her charges of ‘herps and prostitution’ against her.

Cardi B sued the blogger for defamation, invasion of privacy, and intentional infliction of mental distress after she was falsely accused of having herpes, using cocaine, and working as a prostitute.

According to Billboard, after two weeks of deliberation, a Georgia jury awarded Cardi $1.25 million in damages and convicted her of invasion of privacy by false portrayal.

In 2019, the 29-year-old rapper took Kebe to court for dozens of videos showing her allegedly “f–king herself with beer bottles” onstage while working as a stripper.

Cardi had prostituted herself, was addicted to hard drugs, was disloyal to her husband Offset, and had contracted herpes, according to the celebrity news blogger, who has over a million YouTube subscribers.

Last week, the mother of two testified in court that she was “very suicidal” over Kebe’s assertions. “I felt disappointed and depressed,” she continued, “and I didn’t want to sleep with my spouse.”

Cardi reportedly added, “Only a horrible person could do that s–t,” and then apologized to the court for her profanity.

Kebe tweeted last night that she and her attorneys “fought really hard” and thanked her legal team for their “long hours and sleepless nights” following the verdict. “It’s only up from here,” she added, adding that she’d “see y’all in a few days.”

Kebe’s legal team has not indicated whether they intend to appeal the verdict.
