Chelsea stun Paris Saint Germain to win FIFA Club World Cup
In the FIFA Club World Cup final in New York, Chelsea defeated European champions Paris Saint-Germain 3-0 thanks to the efforts of Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro.
Joao Pedro’s effort two minutes before halftime effectively clinched a victory that few could have foreseen before the game. England winger Palmer put the Londoners in control with nearly identical goals in the 22nd and 30th minutes.
Chelsea gave a master tutorial in pressing and made some telling passes that continuously stretched the star-studded French team against a PSG team that had swept all before them in Europe and the United States in the previous month.

After the interval, PSG improved; Vitinho’s shot went narrowly wide, and Dembele struck the post. However, Chelsea’s defence held strong, and Enzo Maresca’s team rightfully took home the victory.
Joao Neves was sent off for tugging Cucurella’s hair late in the game, which only made PSG’s suffering worse.
