Biography Of Praye
Praye is a Ghanaian music group that made significant contributions to the hiplife genre. Eugene Baah (Praye Ho Ne Ho), Steven Fiawoo (Praye Tiatia), and Nana Kwame (Praye Tenten) founded the trio after winning Ghana’s first Nescafe African Revelation contest, followed by the West African grand finale. Their name, which means “broom” in English, represents their purpose of eliminating social vices from society. They are noted for their clever and creative lyrics, which frequently combine hiphop with elements of African pop, R&B, and rap.
Highlights of Praye’s career:
The group achieved early success by winning the Nescafe African Revelation competition and receiving the Kora Award for Best Group in West Africa.
Hit songs such as “Shordy”, “Efie ne Fie”, and “Lasupadora” helped them gain recognition.
Praye released two albums, “Mfitiasee” and “Tha Bomb,” through Broomx Entertainment.
After a decade together, the group members followed independent careers, including Praye Tietia, who released solo music and became known as Choirmaster.
In 2018, the trio unexpectedly reunited for a performance at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).
Despite maintaining a low profile, they continue to collaborate with EKB Records and manager Kiki Banson.
