The 2025 FIBA Women’s AfroBasket quarter-finals will take place after the Round of 16 games on Wednesday (30 July) at the Palais des Sports de Treichville in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.
Tournament debutants South Sudan performed one of the best performances of the basketball tournament thus far, recovering from a 19-point deficit to defeat Egypt 75-65 and advance to the last eight. Mozambique also won handily, defeating Guinea 91-38.
Senegal, a continental powerhouse, maintained their domination by defeating Rwanda 80-37 in a repeat of the 2026 World Cup Pre-Qualifiers.
Cameroon completed the quarter-final round by defeating Angola 85-64, clinching their third consecutive appearance in the final eight.
They join the four group winners — hosts Côte d’Ivoire, defending champions Nigeria, Mali, and Uganda — who earned direct passage to the quarter-finals.
The eight remaining teams will not only battle for continental glory but also for places in the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup 2026 qualifying tournaments.
